On Wednesday, 16 June 2026, members of the Grudis Network and the wider community gathered online for the XXIII Grudis Workshop, held under the theme "Meet the Editors: Editorial Process and Peer Review in Accounting". The workshop drew 97 participants, the highest attendance recorded at a Grudis Workshop to date.
Dedicated to the editorial process and peer review in accounting research, the session gave researchers, academics and doctoral students an opportunity to deepen their understanding of how leading international journals operate, of editors' expectations, and of effective strategies for publishing high-quality research.
Four Editors-in-Chief of internationally renowned accounting journals joined the discussion:
The opening session was delivered by Cláudia Teixeira (Grudis & ISCAP – Polytechnic University of Porto), and the workshop was chaired by Sofia Lourenço (Grudis & ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management, University of Lisbon), who led a wide-ranging and engaging discussion.
The Grudis Executive Committee thanked the guest editors for their generosity in sharing their expertise, experience and insight into the editorial and peer-review process, and thanked all participants for their engagement and thoughtful questions, which contributed significantly to the success of the event.
The Workshop reaffirmed Grudis' mission to promote excellence in accounting research by fostering dialogue between researchers and the editors of leading international journals, while supporting the professional development of early-career and established scholars alike.
Grudis Accounting Research Network's mission is to promote the development of Accounting research, fostering the interaction between the Portuguese and international communities.
