The Conference is preceded by a Doctoral Colloquium and is supported by the European Accounting Association (EAA) under its National Associations Initiative.
The key aims of the annual Grudis Conference and Doctoral Colloquium are:
The target audience is Accounting scholars and researchers, graduate students (doctoral and masters students) and others interested in accounting research.

On behalf of the Conference Committee, I warmly welcome you to the XXIII Grudis Conference and Doctoral Colloquium, an event hosted by the Institute of Accounting and Administration of University of Aveiro, on the 2nd and 3rd February 2024. Myself and my fellow colleagues of the Local Organizing Committee are pleased to receive you at the University of Aveiro, one of the youngest public universities in Portugal and that celebrates 50 years of existence.
The University of Aveiro (UA) was founded in 1973 and paved the way in the creation of teaching offers in several knowledge fields. Today, UA is widely recognised as one of the most innovative universities in Portugal, the quality of its teaching and research and for its cooperation with regional and national business.
Institute of Accounting and Administration of University of Aveiro (ISCA-UA), created in 1971, was integrated into the University of Aveiro (UA) in 2000. Since that date, it became an organic unit within the University of Aveiro. ISCA-UA provides an exceptional venue for the development of both knowledge and strong relationships between the members of its community.
The studies in field of accounting were the first one to be established at ISCA-UA, but ISCA-UA’s study offerings have grown and, at the present, include graduate and postgraduate courses in Accounting, Finance, and Marketing.
As experienced scholars with ample experience in organizing similar events, we aim for a successful Grudis Conference, by providing a conducive forum for high quality scientific discussions, as well as opportunities to socialize and network with peers. The Conference is preceded by the Doctoral Colloquium and has the support of the European Accounting Association (EAA) and of the Portuguese Institute of Certified Accountants (Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados – OCC). Both Conference and Doctoral Colloquium are aimed at accounting researchers, graduate students (masters and doctoral students) and others interested in accounting research.
We firmly believe that the Grudis Conference 2024 will be an event of high scientific significance and, yet again, another success for the Grudis Network. With this in mind, we reiterate our warm invitation to you – come and be part in this event!
We look forward to seeing you in Aveiro!
